Built for Puerto Rico. Engineered to scale.
FiMCo is built on Caribbean Produce, Puerto Rico's leading fresh fruit and vegetable distributor: 66 years of history, 2,000+ active SKUs and an islandwide cold chain. That backbone is what lets us run Food is Medicine at production scale, end to end, across the island.
We exist because federal funding for Food is Medicine is authorized and growing, payers are buying, and providers need an operator that can take 95% of the burden off their plate. Today we serve Medicare Advantage payers (MCS, MMM, Elevance), federal programs (GUSNIP with Fundación MMM and Tufts), clinical partners (Fresenius CKD), and community programs (Adopta un Viejo with Fundación MMM, Más Pan with Banco de Alimentos PR).
Our advantage is structural: we already source, store, cold-chain, deliver and bill across 78 municipalities. Building that infrastructure from scratch takes a decade. We've already done it.
What makes FiMCo different
- ▸
Operator, not coordinator. We touch the food, the patient, the chart, the payer file and the federal report. End to end.
- ▸
Islandwide cold chain. Caribbean Produce's proprietary fleet, distribution centers and certified cold chain. Verified during COVID at 3M-box scale.
- ▸
Production-grade integrations. SFTP/API with payers. Z-code documentation. HIPAA, BAA, IRB-ready. Already running.
- ▸
Real research, not adjacent research. Tufts DUA is signed and active for our cohort, not for a hypothetical future cohort.
- ▸
Bilingual by default. Patient support, materials, screening tools, follow-up: Spanish and English, by design.
